About Us: Corporate History

Springfield Service Corporation was founded in 1986 in Springfield, Illinois by a physician who identified the need within his own practice to have a third-party solely focused on providing billing services and thereby improving cash flow. Since 1986, the Company has flourished, expanding from a small, 4 person office — to a four facility, 350 employee operation providing physician billing services across the country.

The Company is exclusively dedicated to physician billing and accounts receivable management. When the company began, SSC focused on hospital based groups that traditionally operated independently from the business office; Radiology, Pathology, Anesthesiology, and Emergency. In 1993, SSC expanded its service offerings to the multi-specialty, medical school and health system segment of the industry. This allowed SSC to bring additional value to our clients by providing complete revenue cycle management solutions.

Finally, in 2000, SSC began providing revenue cycle management for providers on their own systems. We believe that this market will continue to grow at a rapid pace due to its strong value proposition for clients. SSC provides a full service solution without the need to move data from the providers system, thereby all work is completed within the provider's system framework.

The marketplace for SSC's services is rapidly expanding. With the continuing trend of decreasing reimbursement rates, increased cost structures, providers must maximize their cash flow through successful revenue cycle management. SSC aims to be the preeminent provider of revenue cycle management to the multi-specialty, medical school and health system market.
